Join us online, and sometimes in person, for our monthly AVENT gathering for anyone who wants to accelerate their God shaped creative journey in business and be intentional, kingdom minded and inspired. Part of a collaborative, dynamic fellowship of likeminded people.

The Avent family is a monthly gathering place online and in person where we will enjoy God’s presence in the context of the marketplace. This will be a place to enjoy the values of Wild Rest and withBread.Ventures, to be part of a community, to be encouraged in your dreaming with God, hearing from different people who are carrying God into the market place in different ways. This monthly family will be the launching place for people to join Venture Families (see below). Venture Families will be accessible to people who have undertaken the Foundations Course. There is no cost to being part of the wider Avent family (other than in respect of in person gatherings). This will be a green house where we establish an atmosphere of the Kingdom.

 

VENTURE FAMILIES

Venture Families is a dedicated programme for anyone who wants to create a new business or who has already started a venture in the context of being part of a dynamic family of co-builders.

​

Venture Families is for people who are in a season where they are investing in the building of God birthed business ventures. You might be at the very start but you have an identifiable foundation to start building on. It is for people who carry the values of withBread because they have been part of Avent, Wild Rest and undertaken the Foundations Course. Ventures Families is by nature a community endeavour. We cannot walk out our God given dreams in isolation. We will role our Venture Familes on an ad hoc basis as people come through Avent and Wild Rest.

 

We may suggest you join an existing group (because there is Spirit led compatibility of ideas and people) or we may create a new group.  Your cohort are your Co-Founders! You are the Vision Bearer of your venture, will maintain intellectual property rights to your idea, however your cohort are your team and they will help you to go the distance. Some of your cohort may even become future business partners. It is even possible that your co-hort becomes one business with multiple expressions. Everything is possible!  We are aiming to be able to financially invest in ventures that come forth from Cohorts. We literally want to become a family of businesses.

 

We are living in truly remarkable days of opportunity and hope, and it is my strong conviction that there is going to an anointing upon our small of band of entrepreneurs to create beautiful and success filled enterprises.

 

We currently have one active Venture Family with a variety of ventures being birthed.

Why the name withBread.ventures?

The word company derives from latin Cum Panis which means "with bread". Merchants would meet and discuss their business plans over dinner ("with bread") and eventually their ventures were named for the dinner meetings. An 1872 book on grammar lists two words in its glossary that come from "cum panis":

​

companion: a sharer of food, a comrade, fellow-traveller, partner

company: association, a number of partners

​

The word "corporation" derives from corpus, the Latin word for body, or a "body of people." 

​

Companies are all about the people in them. Despite, the law separating the legal personality of the company from its people, in reality they should not be separate entities.  Dreams, ideas and innovations are formed together when people sit down together and  share bread. Their collective vision and adventure becomes the company. The people literally form the company, they are the company. All too often the company becomes something different to what the initial vision bearers carried. People begin to serve the company rather than their dream, innovation or heart.

This is like the ancient “starter” or leavening agent that God has placed in your DNA which needs to be carefully nurtured and mixed into your product. This is the seed that will cause your endeavour to rise to the challenge of your assignment.

 

#locate, measure and add God’s best ingredients to your “mix” 

Business acumen, heavenly intelligence, a winning team, passion, your unique and growing skills. Provenance is key.

 

#knead your vision

Teaching, discipling, sparing, community, coaching and opportunities for counselling-purifying the mix.

 

#punch down and turn your dough

Iron sharpens iron. Agility, adaptation willingness to pivot, understanding your market’s needs. Hard work. Proving the concept. Understanding the “kairos” timing.

 

#shape your dough

Building a minimal viable product. Market and Kingdom intelligence is key.

 

#leave you to Rise

Trusting that the above process brings about glorious results. Catching the rising winds of Holy Spirit. Pressing into God, His presence, word and empowerment. It has all been paid for through the cross and resurrection of Jesus!

 

#bake your bread

Bring heat to your product and service. Will it stand the test of fire? Will it rise to the challenge? Piloting, testing, appraisal and pitching.

 

#sell your bread. 

From the beginning we will be very mindful of this, but now we go to market and we sell each other’s bread! Identify which supply channels we need our bread to find.

 

#help you make “loads of dough”

Automation of your “bakery line” so that you can make recurring revenue. How to deliver “artisanal” quality in larger batches.

Venture Families

​

Programme Outline

​

1.    withBread.ventures weekly

 

The main building block of this journey, will be our weekly community call which will be 2 hours max. The idea is that participants will attend these sessions week in week out (with very occasional absences). All for one and one for all.

 

These will be inspiring times and will normally have an element of worship, prayer and continual opportunities to hear from Holy Spirit about what we are building. They will include teaching moments, group times, one-on-one times.  These sessions will be like a ‘plumb line’ helping us to stay on course, and a place of accountability, and encouragement as we bake (and break) bread together! 

 

On a practical note, given that we are sharing freely with one another, all participants will enter into a simple confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement.

 

 

2.    Master Class

 

Each month we will have a master class which will give your incredible insight from experts in different areas. Helping you gain vital knowledge and allowing others to impart to you some of the keys to their success. We will also have pioneers showcasing how they have mixed God and business.

3.    Coaching Sessions with our Team

 

Each month Norman will give a one hour one-on-one session for each participant helping them navigate this individual journey. Should further sessions be desired, this can be possible at a cost.

 

4.    Business Chaplaincy 

 

Our resident Business Chaplain is Sarah Day. Advocating us towards the culture of the kingdom, in thought, faith, motive and action. Empowering each in their God given promises and purposes and challenging towards the mandate of heaven. As Chaplain her role is to walk alongside participants championing healthy inward growth and fruitfulness that infuses the outward actions of all we are. 

 

Each term, participants will have a mandatory 1 hour check-in session with Sarah (first hour at no cost, however we encourage participants to consider further sessions whether counseling or coaching/mentoring, as needed). Many of the obstacle to success do not lie outside of us but are the limiting beliefs we carry, effecting our belief expectation cycles. Often breakthrough at this heart level will usher us into breakthrough in the physical.

 

5.    The Oil Store Gathering

 

Above all else, we are a people who know and welcome the presence of God in all that we do. As part of this journey, it is compulsory to join our monthly Oil Store Gathering (subject to reasonable absences). This is a place for us to belong as we journey together into the deeper riches of Jesus, and all we have the privilege to possessing through intimacy with God. 

 

This is a place where we receive oil for our lamps, oil for our businesses so we can keep on burning! In these prophetic times together, we will draw to the altar where we are invited by Jesus to know the delight of the Father and we come with one desire to know him & make him known. Through the privilege of his presence, we come alive.  We worship connect & allow our lives to be soaked in the presence of our King & His Kingdom. We will feast at his table of revelation and life, drawing near to him.

 

 Come with an open heart to gather with a community of others who love him & want to "buy" oil.

 

This is the powerhouse, the place to connect with your main shareholder, your chairman, your main investor – Almighty God. Seek first the Kingdom AND ALL THESE TIHNGS SHALL BE ADDED.

 

At the end of each semester, each participant will pitch their venture to the group and also, when ready, to a wider audience. At the end of each semester, following pitches, there may be opportunity to receive financial seed investment.
